Education philosophy: The school adheres to the "student-centered" education philosophy and builds a comprehensive student support system covering academic support, psychological counseling and life care through multi-departmental coordination mechanisms such as the Mental Health Education Center, Student Affairs Department and Education Office.

- Establish a standardized assessment process and define assessment criteria and interventions for academic adaptation
- Protect students' rights and interests in education, and maintain a safe and orderly teaching environment on campus
- Promote home-school linkage to form a synergy in education
2. Application
1. Trigger conditions (more than two must be met at the same time):
- GPA lower than 2.0 for two consecutive semesters (less than 60 points on a 100-point scale)
- Absence in a semester exceeds 1/3 of the total class hours (according to the Classroom Teaching Management Measures)
- Failed three or more courses
- Serious psychological crisis such as self-harm and violent tendencies
- Long-term treatment due to health reasons (provide a hospital certificate of Grade II or above)
2. List of warning signs:
- Academic performance: Homework submission rate of less than 50%, exam discipline violation twice or more
- Behavior: did not participate in group activities for two consecutive weeks, and failed to pass the dormitory hygiene for three times
- Health indicators: moderate to severe depression/anxiety as assessed by the psychological counseling center
- Special groups: Students from poor families are living abnormally hard
3. Hierarchical processing mechanism
1. Comparison of grading standards:

2. Handling of special cases:
- International students must notify the School of International Education at the same time when they trigger the Level 3 alert
- The flexible school system shall apply to the students who move up to higher secondary schools
- Sports/Art students can apply for special academic assessment
4. Detailed Rules for Implementation at different levels
Level I: Initial concern
1. Processing process:
- The class teacher/teacher submits the Student Academic Warning Application Form through the OA system.
- The psychological counseling center will arrange an interview within 5 working days
- Fill in the Academic Adaptability Progress Plan Form
2. Support measures:
- Free academic tutor (once a week)
- Open Library VIP Study Room (reservation: Library desk)
- Green channel for delayed test application (submitted 3 working days before the test)
3. Upgrade standard:
- Failed to submit study reports twice in a row
- Refused counseling
- Failed the warning course
Level 2: Serious concern
4. Interventions:
- Mandatory attendance at learning ability camps
- Start the parent communication mechanism (send the "Home School Notification" through the home-school contact platform)
- Limit elective credits to 12 credits/semester
5. Evaluation criteria:
- Submit progress reports every two weeks (see the website of the Academic Affairs Office for templates)
- Monthly mental health assessment reports are issued by the psychological counseling center
- Quarterly comprehensive evaluation of academic mentors
Level 3: Crisis intervention
6. Decision process:
- Academic Committee Group meeting of 7 members (including 1 Legal Advisor)
- Students can appoint a representative to attend the hearing (3 days in advance)
- Conference recording archive (storage period: 5 years)
7. Treatment measures:
- Certificate of rehabilitation from a Class III hospital is required for suspension application
- Reserved dormitory bed during registration freeze (50% accommodation fee is required)
- The withdrawal decision shall be reviewed by the President's office (centralized processing in December/June each year)
5. Special Management Provisions
Suspension management
1. Implementation Rules:
- Leave of study due to illness: need to provide a diagnosis certificate of the second-class hospital in Guangzhou
- Business suspension: A copy of business plan and business license is required
- Maximum suspension period: 2 years for ordinary students and 2 years for conscripts
2. Re-entry process:
- Submit the Application Form 15 working days in advance (Annex 2)
- Participate in academic ability test (including psychological assessment, professional written test)
- Application time: 5 working days before the beginning of each semester
Withdrawal processing
3. Implementation standards:
- Academic reasons: GPA lower than 1.5 for two consecutive semesters and accumulated 20 credits of failed courses
- Disciplinary reasons: cheating on three exams or receiving probation
- Health reasons: the presence of a serious mental illness as determined by forensic evidence
4. Handling process:
- Preliminary examination (5 working days) → Review by the Academic Affairs Office (3 working days) → Approval by the President's Office (15th of each month)
- The letter of withdrawal decision will be posted by EMS and posted on the campus bulletin board
- Transfer of files to the talent market in the place of origin (with proof of transfer)
